  What do you do when you have three geriatric sisters as patients and all they want to do is sit at home and talk to one another - all at the same time? You move another person in with them, at least thats what Doc Lomax does. He has a new nurse needing a place to live. A nurse with a secret. The hard part is convincing the sisters they need a roomer. In no time however, Nurse Jean has them planning parties, pulling Halloween pranks and wearing jogging suits while they race each other to the corner. But when the nephew shows up with a plan to sell the family house, things get complicated. This heart warming piece is loaded with wisecracks and one liners that keep the laughter flowing

We went to see Dearly Beloved. We were delighted with the play, and the actors did a very good job conveying the story with all its humor. The entire performance was much more than I anticipated.

The only downside that I can report would be the fact that I had an extremely difficult time seeing all aspects of the performance. I am 5’2” and sat in the second row with several other women that are all around that height. We really had to lean this way & that to see. I have been to performances at the Walden center in Bloomington. They also use the fold out chairs. They have elevated this problem by incorporating risers for the stairs. This seems to help greatly. I just wanted to add this suggestion.

With all that said. I will definitely attend other performances. Kudos to all involved!

I went to see the preview performance of Duck Soup. This is really not one to be missed, you may never get a chance to see it on stage again. As far as Community Theater, this was a wonderful musical and from experience I know each show will just get better and better. It is a small audience so make your reservations today.

We attended a Sunday afternoon performance of Duck Soup due to our friendship with Russ McGee the producer of that play. We were so pleasantly entertained by such versatile actors that we will attend more of the Merry Mac's productions. A fine addition to Martinsville's art endeavors.
